OVERVIEW: Fripp Island is the most seaward of the beautiful barrier islands. Only three and a half miles long by half mile wide, the entire island is a wildlife sanctuary with a trail maintained by the Audubon Club in order to view wildlife, plants and more than a 175 species of birds.
Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is hailed not only as a great golf destination with two championship golf courses, but also as a great vacation destination for families.

LOCATION: Located in the very heart of South Carolina’s LowCountry on the Atlantic Ocean just minutes from historic Beaufort, SC, voted America’s best small town in 2007. Also only 58 miles from Savannah and 90 miles from Charleston. Neighboring islands include Pritchard’s, a nature conservancy and Hunting Island State Park, named one of the nation’s top 100 parks.

CLIMATE: Year-round balmy subtropical climate. The island faces southeast allowing visitors to see magnificent sunrises and sunsets.

LODGING: Accommodations include more than 200 rental homes and villas including oceanfront, marsh and golf views.

GOLF: Two award-winning championship courses.

Ocean Point - A newly renovated seaside links course designed by George Cobb, boasts 10 of its 18 holes with spectacular water views. Ocean Point was the first golf course in the country to put in Aloha Seashore Paspalum, a new grass that allows the ball to sit up as if on a little tee.
Fripp Island’s Ocean Point was the first resort in the country to offer Wee for kids, Fripp’s award-winning program is geared for ages 5-12. Kids even have their own scorecard.

Ocean Creek - The signature course of Davis Love III offers panoramic views of the Great Salt Marsh and freshwater lakes amid four ancient rolling dune lines.

TENNIS: The Racquet Club offers year round play and instruction on eight Fast-Dry clay courts and two hard courts. Students and players come from all over the world for private instruction with Tennis Pro Troy McMullen.
The pro shop will arrange a game for you with someone on your level if you need either a partner or someone to play with. Daily drills, stroke of the day, and organized play creates a fun time at the tennis courts.

FISHING: Some of the best fishing in the Atlantic and especially the LowCountry is off the shore of Fripp Island. The Marina offers offshore charters and inshore fishing with experienced guides. A fully stocked Marina Store has everything needed for a fishing adventure, including some of the best deli sandwiches this side of New York.

EXCURSION RENTALS: The mode of transportation once on the island is generally a golf cart. Rentals of golf cards, scooters, bicycles, kayaks, skiffs and wave runners are available.

PONTOON CRUISES: Fripp Island has a 36-passenger pontoon boat (The Fripper), which can be rented to take a dolphin or sunset cruise.

SWIMMING POOLS: Four pools are available including one for adults only.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS: Camp Fripp is a day camp for kids open during the summer where kids can go crabbing, meet the animals, do arts and crafts, go on nature walks and much more.

MEETINGS: Fripp Island is ideal for small groups or meetings up to 300. Fripp provides a distinctive setting for retreats or meetings. The Savannah Airport is only 67 miles away.

DINING: Seven restaurants are located on the island:

The Beach Club offers elegant seaside dining in a casual atmosphere with local seafood favorites, poultry, pastas and steaks.
Bonito Boathouse - An island favorite located waterside at Fripp Island Marina features some of the best seafood in the Lowcountry.
The Sandbar - Enjoy your favorite beverage overlooking the beautiful Atlantic. This outdoor lounge is beachside right next to the adult pool at the Beach Club.
Ocean Point Grille - Located at the Ocean Point golf complex serves breakfast, lunch. They will package your favorite beverages in a cooler for you to take when you hit the links.
Cabana Restaurant - Located at the Cabana Club, the restaurant overlooks Skull Inlet, Pritchard’s Island and the Club’s sparkling pools. Cabana offers specialty sandwiches, burgers, and tasty salads.
Willies Wet Bar - Enjoy one of the island’s favorite frozen drinks poolside at the Cabana Club as you look across the beautiful inlet.
The Marina Deli - The best place on the island for sandwiches and salads to go.
In addition, during the summer season you can order pizza to go and get ice cream at the little ice cream shop located next to the Beach Club.
