Fripp Island Wedding Policies

Fripp Island has the honor of hosting many weddings ranging from casual to formal each year. Because we realize that this is a once in a lifetime event, Fripp Island is prepared to put forth every effort to ensure that your event exceeds your expectations. To ensure that this is possible, we have established the following policies and procedures for those guests wishing to book a wedding or special event at the resort:

Fripp Island Resort requires guaranteed minimums.:

The minimum can be met in any combination of fees paid for Golf, Accommodations, Food & Beverage and include items billed to you and/or your attendees. Seasons are as outlined by the current Resort Rental Guide.

Accommodations
Fripp Island Resort will hold accommodations for your attendees, all reservations will be handled using Reservation Forms that can be faxed or mailed to The Group Sales Office. All accommodations rented through Fripp Island Resort will be included in the total required island wide expenditure. If you or your guests choose to rent through outside sources, those rental amounts will not be included in your required expenditure total. Take a quick look at our rentals here.

Marriage License
Employees of Fripp Island Resort cannot provide information regarding license requirements or other legal issues. The County of Beaufort Information & Assistance number is (843) 525-7100

Ceremony
Fripp Island would be delighted to provide you with a beautiful outdoor venue for your ceremony. Chairs and other set up is an additional charge depending on the needs of the client and can be handled through the resort. An inclement weather back up must be reserved in an indoor location.

If you would prefer a more traditional setting, The Chapel on Fripp Island may be available for a nominal fee. Your contact for the chapel is Ms. Patty Patek at (843) 838-3980.

Reception & Rehearsal Dinner
Fripp Island offers a variety of indoor and outdoor locations for your events, depending upon the number of guests and set up requirements. Functions planned for outdoor venues are required to have an inside location reserved for weather back up and may be moved inside due to inclement weather.

Room Charges
$175 room rental will apply per function. Additional set-up fees may apply to function space. White linens are included in the room charge for your catered functions. Specialty linens or different colored linens can be obtained for a nominal fee with advance notice.

Menu Selection
All food and beverage served at our Resort are provided by Proof of the Pudding at Fripp Island Resort. Final Menu selections must be submitted to the Director of Catering at least 30 days prior to the event. Fripp Island does not allow outside catering of Food (with the exception of special occasion cakes) or Beverages, including Liquor, Beer and Wine. A 20% service charge and South Carolina State and Local sales tax will be added to all food and beverage items.

Food and Beverage
Food and beverage from outside the resort is not allowed at any time, excluding the wedding cake.

Entertainment
All outside entertainment must conclude at Midnight.

Coordination
A coordinator will be assigned to act as a liaison between you and the resort staff. If you prefer more personalized service, Fripp Island can provide the names of Wedding Coordinators in the area. Fripp Island can also suggest Photographers, Florists, Musicians and Bakers.

Weather Policy
In all cases, the Fripp Island Resort reserves the right to make a final decision if lighting storms or severe weather conditions are expected in the vicinity that may endanger the safety of guests or employees. Should there be a report of a 30% or more chance of rain the the area, the scheduled function will take place in the designated back-up area. Temperatures below 60 degrees and/or wind gusts in excess of 20mph shall also be cause to hold the function indoors. This decision will be made no less than five hours prior to the scheduled starting time of the function. Should the decision be delayed and result in double-set up of the function, a service charge will be added to your master account

Guarantee
All functions must have final attendance guarantee 72 hours prior to the event. If no final guarantee is received, we will assume that the guarantee is for the number on the Banquet Event Order, or the actual number that attend, whichever is larger.

Payment
A deposit, along with a valid credit card number, will be required with the signed contract and will be applied to the final bill. Unless billing has been established the balance will be due 24 hours prior to the function based on the final guarantee.
