Easter at Fripp
Easter brings first big holiday of the year and typically the arrival of sunny spring weather. If the summer heat isn’t for you but you enjoy the beach and all the Fripp activities, then this might be the perfect holiday for you. This holiday at Fripp is all about family and spending time with each other on vacation. We have the Fripp Family Fling at the Oceanview Lounge that kids love and is a great way to grab a bite to eat and let kids be kids. The following morning have Fripps very own Easter Bunny hand-deliver Easter baskets to your door for a special treat that your kids will remember for years to come. Afterward, celebrate with breakfast with the Easter bunny at The Beach Club and a magic show to follow it up.
The weather this time of year is cool and perfect for long walks on the beach or riding the golf cart around the island. The ocean may be still a little too cold to take a dip but we have a wonderful heated pool at our Cabana Club overlooking nearby Pritchards Island and is the perfect spot to watch the sunsets on Fripp.
Memorial Day weekend is the beginning of the summer season at Fripp and is certainly a great weekend to come down and enjoy the beach. The weather has warmed and so has the ocean making for great beach days with friends and family. Kick-off the summer with our busy summer schedule or catch the big one in our Memorial Day Fishing Tournament. Most guests come just for the weekend and holiday opting to come back for a full week later in the summer.
The biggest week on Fripp is undoubtedly the week of July Fourth. Our Calendar of activities doubles in size making for an action-packed week if you so choose to participate. Our tournaments, in particular, tend to draw a lot of attention, from Giant Beer Pong to Sand Sculpture Competition there is an activity for every member of the family to compete in. Take a more laid-back approach and relax on our three-mile-long beach facing the beautiful Atlantic and while it is the busiest week of the year on Fripp, finding a spot on the beach isn’t hard with our 30+ beach access points up and down the island.
One thing you don’t want to miss is the Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade. On average we have about sixty participants that decorate their carts in a patriotic theme or a new theme picked every year. This year was “Life’s a Beach” and our participants did not disappoint. If you don’t have a golf cart then don’t worry, many of our properties come with a cart or one can be rented through our excursions office. After the parade is the annual July Fourth Carnival on Fripp. Bring the kids and enjoy blow up bounce houses a variety of games and plenty of treats for the kids and parents alike. Grab a chair and umbrella from the beach hut and wrap up the afternoon with a military jet/plane flyover that starts in Myrtle Beach and comes right over our beach.
The Fourth on Fripp is an experience to say the least and while busy it is easy to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax. Many of our rentals are situated off the beaten path of Fripp and provide natural secluded beauty that gives you your own personal escape. The best part is you can hop on the golf cart and in a short time be in the center of it all if you so choose.
Thanksgiving on Fripp
Our Thanksgiving festivities are a mix of Christmas and Thanksgiving. Leave the cooking to us and join us for a traditional Thanksgiving meal at The Beach Club. Work off all that food with a round of golf or marsh kayaking on Friday followed up with Santas’ arrival at The Beach Club by the firetruck that night. Saturday have breakfast with Santa and afterward, take naturalist-guided hayrides around the island.
