Good clean place to stay. Quick walk to the beach.Watch an eagle steal a fish from a fish hawk.The eagle had to hide in the tall marsh weeds near us with his fish waiting until the fish hawk gave up on attacking.

We really enjoyed staying at this condo. The view was just lovely. Also, as an end unit, it had a more expansive view and extra windows. The unit was very thoughtfully updated, and had everything we needed for our stay. Unfortunately, the dryer was broken during our stay, but the owner of the property allowed us to use another property of theirs for laundry and was prompt about calling the repair people.

We loved everything about this rental! The location was wonderful and close to the center of the island with the Beach Club pool, tennis courts, arcade and shops. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed for our trip. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

This property was perfect for our family of 5 + pup! The central location was awesome - close enough to walk to food and drink options, pools, beach & other activities (our kids enjoyed the small arcade one afternoon & the logo store had some great finds!) We loved the deer that were right out our back door each morning, used the fishing dock every day (caught a lot, including a decent size red drum!), and once we arrived we parked our car and used the golf cart the entire week to explore the island! The inside of the property was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Check in was as easy as could be & communication with owner was great! We loved that this was an end unit & had both front and back entrances (must use front for keypad/to unlock). The screened in porch was perfect to sip morning coffee & also see the beautiful sunset sky over the marsh. We kept our fishing & beach gear out here and the back door allowed for easy access. Our few tips - rent a golf cart!!; bring produce & meat if you don’t want to have to leave the island - there are a few small stores with most necessities but not fully stock grocery stores; make sure you explore the whole island - we loved walking/riding around to soak it all in. We walked the entire length of the island on the ocean side. Its beautiful! Lots of nature & wildlife to see and our kids enjoyed all of the pools! A great first week on Fripp and we will be back! 10/10 recommend!

Girls getaway weekend. The Villa was a perfect location and accommodation for our girls weekend getaway. Back porch sunset and marsh views are gorgeous. Everything decorated and appointed just right. Will definitely return!

We have stayed in many units on Fripp over the years, but this one was our favorite by a mile. Perfectly updated, located, decorated and maintained. The screened porch was such a nice treat, the bedding was super comfortable with soft linens, thick bath towels (and plenty of them), pet friendly (but you would never know it), ceiling fans and properly working a/c, and much to our delight, a large TV in every room with so many channels!!!! We were completely rained out on Sunday, so this was awesome to have. You can walk or ride right across the street to the beach access, the fitness area, pool and club. I have just one "complaint", with a side note that it won't stop us from returning again and again. The building insulation between the floors is thin, so you can hear the footfalls of the upstairs residents pretty well (not their conversations or the TV, just the steps). It's not something that would bother you during the day let's say, but if they happen to stay up late and you go to bed early...it might. I turned our sound machine way up and it was fine. I considered it a small price to pay for such an amazing space. Thank you for showing such care for your guests and the personal touches meant so much.

This was our 2nd time staying at this villa! It is a great location.....just a quick walk across the street to get to the beach! The villa was very clean and had everything that our family of five needed! Love the peaceful screened-in porch! This was also our first time bringing our two pups.....Bailey and Sadie! We made wonderful family memories and look forward to our next trip!

Beautifully updated and attention to detail outstanding! Comfortable, clean and high quality amenities. Perfect location on the island. Only two issues: No guest pass was at security gate for Fripp Island access, and there was remodel construction activity on adjoining unit. Overall, we love the place and feel that the owner and property manager were responsive and welcoming. We’re looking forward to our next visit!

From the moment walked in I knew we were going to like the Majors Retreat. It was very welcoming, clean and a great layout. The views of the marsh from the screen porch were great, and listening to the birds in the morning while drinking coffee was so relaxing. The kitchen had every item you could need, the bathrooms were nice size and I liked the updated master bath. We were centrally located on the island,and renting a golf cart made it very easy to get around. Carol was an amazing host! Great communication and offered great suggestions for things to do on the island. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Fripp!!

The condo was exactly as the pictures showed. We loved being on the end unit of the bottom floor. My husband and I enjoyed drinking a cup of coffee, sitting in the porch, talking to the deer as they walked right up to us! Our Boston Terrier loved talking to the deer too! Just a great place to relax and enjoy Fripp!

Centrally located and so nice! Came with linens, towels, beach towels, two chairs, WiFi, plates, utensils, washer and dryer, first floor level so it was super convenient to get set up and leave too! I would recommend bringing games or things to do if it rains.

We had a great time for our first stay on Fripp island. The condo is exactly as described. It was clean, updated, and comfortable. Also, Great that we can bring our dog! The condo is centrally located to the pool areas and beach access across the street.

Majors Retreat was the perfect location on Fripp. Easy walk to the beach and pools, communal dock is where we caught our first fish, lots of alligator sightings, nicely decorated and happy with all the work they put into remodeling. We rented a golf cart which the owner assisted with recommendations for company’s and had so much fun cruising around all week, especially to the nature center and kids pool. We ate off the island in Port Royal one night at FishCamp on 11th street and it was delicious. We will definitely be back!

The inside is clean and pest free. Great for a small family. You could sometimes hear noises from other rooms but that is to be expected being in the same building. On the first floor so it is easy to let your dog out. Hostess was very organized and told us all the check in/check out processes clearly and succinctly. Hostess left us a welcome wine and seashell!

Our first visit to Fripp. This condo was perfectly located to enjoy everything the island offfers. We rented a golf cart and so happy we did. Took advantage of the screened porch to enjoy coffee in the mornings and watch wildlife while the sun come up. We would rent here again, for sure!

The unit we rented was very nicely furnished and decorated! Was conveniently located and very close to the Beach Club (virtually across the street). But being winter, not much was open at the Beach Club. Fripp is very low key and laid back, unlike Myrtle or the Charleston area. A good area to just relax and unwind! Carol (owner) was very accommodating and easy to work with!

Terrific and organized host. Super responsive (I canceled my dog coming last minute and she did a refund so quickly and easily, I was grateful.). The pics of the condo don't do it justice. It's lovely, clean and organized and has so many little things that make staying with a family easier (puzzles, board games, etc..). The location is in the middle of Fripp so it's easy to hop between the pools and to the nature center. Such a positive experience from beginning to end. Thanks!!!!

This is our third time staying at Fripp and probably the best property we have stayed at. Very clean and comfortable property. Our family likes to have a nice movie night at the end of a long day in the sun. The available online services and the televisions was awesome. Just bring your popcorn! The bathrooms, flooring, kitchen and furnishings were very well thought out and upgraded. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook just about any meal and bedrooms were very comfortable. Looking forward to to coming back to this property.

We all felt right at home at this condo with our teenager, nine-year-old, as well as our dog! Clean, beautifully furnished, comfortable with all the amenities you would want in a vacation “home.” We said it was like staying at a family members condo - you just walk right in and feel relaxed and welcome. The view outback is really just spectacular and unexpected considering the location of the condo being right across from the beach club and snack shack as we call it. But we loved this location. after coming to Fripp for 20 years is the first time we’ve been so close to so many amenities at the island. It is so unexpectedly serene and quiet sitting on the back screened porch looking at the marsh view. It’s completely uninhabited and natural. We would absolutely stay here again next year! We have stayed in a dog friendly rental before and you definitely feel like you are staying in a “dog friendly” rental! This condo was clean fresh and undetectable from dogs staying in it. Great, friendly and effective communication with the owners as well.

Perfection at Fripp!! Loved the first floor end unit. We've stayed in other units in this same complex and this was definitely our favorite due to the convenience of the first floor and the end unit gave great views off the porch. Everything was clean and easy. Another great stay in our favorite place!

We loved that we could bring our dog with us! Kitchen and bath are brand new, back screened porch with marsh view was lovely, and it’s just a 2 minute walk across the street to the beach boardwalk! The owners responded right away when we needed help making the tv work to watch an important sporting event!

Loved the apartment- smallish but just right for us and newly nicely redecorated. Good location. Owners were great. Stayed 6 weeks and were already familiar with Fripp since we had lived there for 8 years. Parking lot was completed about 1 and 1/2 weeks into our stay. Our dog also enjoyed his stay there.

Lovely condo. Expansive marsh views from the back yard. We enjoyed watching all the birds and the tide go in and out. Perfectly located across the street from the beach. Great place to rest and relax and walk the beach to view amazing sunsets. Lots of fun things to do in Fripp Island. Close to Hunting Island State Park where we had some great hikes.

This is a very lovely well-maintained condo unit. We were surprised at how clean it is, considering that pets are allowed. The outside of the stairs smell a little bit moldy, I guess because of all of the rain. But there was no sign of mold at all inside. The owners paid so much attention to small details. There were games, puzzles and even a sewing kit just in case. We also enjoyed the bottle of wine. The only thing that was a little disappointing, is the beach access is not just across the street, but across the parking lot and then back behind some of the houses. It was a little walk. But still close enough. The pictures almost make it look like you can see the beach from the window of the condo. But that is just a picture of the beach access, not the deck of the condo. But overall it was a very great location. And well worth it.

This was our first trip to Fripp Island, and we absolutely adored the area! The central location of this condo was very convenient, and I was very pleased with how clean and orderly everything was. It was the perfect size for our family of four. Carol’s communication was helpful, and she gave us some great suggestions. We were impressed with the welcome note and bottle of wine. We did not do a lot of cooking, but the kitchen was well equipped and had everything that we needed. Being right across the street from the Beach Club pool and beach access was really nice, and we appreciated the recommendation to rent a golf cart and purchase amenity cards so that we could check out several of the other beach access areas and the Cabana pool, too. It was great to be able to bring our little dog with us to the beach, too. She especially loved seeing the deer that are literally everywhere! We also enjoyed the little screened in porch overlooking the canal. Our family would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Carol!

We had a great, first Fripp vacation. This property is conveniently located. Being an end/corner unit was great because it was quiet (except for the herd of elephants/kids upstairs). Even though this is a pet-friendly place, it was SUPER clean. The owner explained check in/out process well and provided all necessary information. She communicated well with us and answered all my questions quickly. My only complaint was the water pressure in the master bath. I had to shower in the hallway bathroom to actually wash my hair. The master bath wasn’t strong enough to rinse hair. It just trickled down. Other than that it was great. 😊

Condo was as advertised and spotless. Comms w/ Carol was easy and fast. We brought our bikes and toured the island and beaches. Not sure how many people have even heard of Fripp, but we're trying to keep it a secret back home. The Major's Retreat was perfect it every way, thx for sharing this slice of paradise. We shall return!!

Wonderful communicating with Carol and the “Major!” Villa was exactly as described and even more. The view from the back porch was very relaxing and peaceful. The house was very clean and comfortable. Very convenient to everything on the island. I am going back with family in two months., and hope to be back again in the future! The screen porch, which is on the marsh with lots of bird activity, was calming. Great place to slow down with the pace of Fripp and just enjoy life.

Carol is a lovely and generous host! The villa was exactly as promised - super clean, very stylish and complete with everything we needed (and more!) for a wonderful stay. We loved eating on the back porch and the short walk to the beach. Fripp is beautiful and we can’t wait to return.

Comfortable, cozy condo. Comfy king bed, and a short walk to the beach. We had a wonderful, relaxing first visit to Fripp Island. Would defintely love to come back again!

Great location, cute condo! Condo owner has thought of everything. Very well stocked end unit. Pretty quiet although there were some people upstairs that were a bit loud but that is the joy of condo living. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Just a quick walk across the street has you at Beach access 16. Great place to watch the sunrise. The screened in porch provided a great place to enjoy the marsh without the gnats. Not too many stairs for my elderly parents. Would certainly stay again!

This property was lovely. The furniture was new and upscale, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The owners did a great job remodeling this condo! It has a close proximity to the pools, beach and marina. The layout of the condo is perfect for a family of 4. A couple of things you should know before going: The owners supply two beach chairs, two boogie boards, and a couple of blankets that can be used on the beach. If you bring/rent bikes, you can keep them at the bike rack located in front of the unit. We stored our large beach tent and extra chairs in the back of our SUV during our stay (which was no problem), as you cannot store things in the breezeway outside the unit. Make sure you rent a gasoline powered golf cart, as there is nowhere to plug in an electric cart. There are a couple of permanent charcoal grills located right outside the screened back porch. We really enjoyed our stay at Major's Retreat and would definitely rent this unit again!

Fripp Island is a great place to spend a relaxing week at the beach and our Villa was fantastic as well. Perfect location in the center of the island. Close to everything with incredible views and fishing in the Fripp Canal within steps of the Villa. The villa was clean and everything worked well. Carol was fantastic and available quickly for questions. Will definitely be staying here again.

This was the perfect place to unwind after the last few months. Carole, was great to communicate! The condo had everything we needed, including beach chairs. The screened in porch was perfect to start our morning with coffee and ending the day with a glass of wine. There were a few minor housekeeping issue that were discussed with the owner, so she could address with the cleaning service, but the overall the place was neat and clean. High recommend! We loved Fripp Island!!

Wow, wow, wow! We stayed at this well appointed, modern, clean, convenient property for 3 weeks, and we LOVED every single minute of it! It was perfect for my family of four and two furry family members! Very short walk to the beach access across the street and to the dock on the canal off the back porch where we also enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and where the deer came to visit nightly. Carol was beyond accommodating and was easy to reach. She surprised us with a gift basket, including a bottle of wine, which we appreciated after our 4 hour drive to the island. :). Absolutely recommend staying here! We will be back!!

Very adequate and private condo, across the street from beach access. Amenities galore. My only complaint would be that a one time purchase of a fifty dollar amenity card per person is required to access even the restaurant as a listed amenity. People who would otherwise not golf, play tennis, etc. might still enjoy eating without the long drive to other restaurants. Loved our stay!

Amenity card rates, set up the Club, differ by season and length of stay. Many renters are not Club members and can't offer that service to their guests. Come back soon!

We've been renting houses on Edisto Island for the last 15 years are first time staying at Fripp and this is truly a new gem to the VRBO world. The canal is right off your screened in porch and what a surprise when the Dolphins came dancing by it was just beautiful! The place is absolutely adorable well-appointed even a couple of little things in the pantry and refrigerator in case you needed something when you first get here which was very thoughtful. The bed was amazingly comfortable great towels everything first class will definitely be back and Carol was nice enough to extend our stay one more night.
